Take part in a hands-on workshop where you'll create your very own needle book - a beautiful, practical accessory that dates back to the 1800's. No crafting experience? No problem! This event is designed for the beginners and seasonal makers alike.
Bloodletting & Burials Tour – 6:00 pm This guided tour takes guests through Philadelphia’s gruesome medical past. Meet at Betsy’s grave for your first stop, then proceed to Christ Church Burial Ground and then onward to Arch Street Meetinghouse. Upon your return to the Betsy Ross House take the Spooky Self-Guided Tour of the Betsy Ross House. On the tour of the house, meet Betsy Ross in her upholstery shop where she’ll talk about the creepier parts of living in 18th century Philadelphia including how lining coffins was part of her job as an upholsterer. New this year, Ministry of Awe and Cesar Viveros will present a traditional Mesoamerican dance, honoring Hispanic American Heritage Month, prior to the movie.
